5 Natural Ways to Deal with Menstrual Cramps

Menstrual cramps or period cramps are generally called dysmenorrhea. You will be surprised to know that almost half of the women all over the world experience menstrual cramp during their period. The pain triggers due to the contraction of the uterus and other conditions such as adenomyosis and endometriosis.

It is normal to have pain in your lower belly, lower back and in the thighs before and during your menstrual period and you don’t need to worry about it. 1.      Take Care of Your Diet:

During the period, you need to take care of your diet properly to get rid of cramps. Cut off fat from your diet and take more vegetables during those days. Fat decreases the inflammation of the entire body. Go for healthy fat, also known as saturated fat like fish oil and olive oil.

Take protein in these days. Peanut, fish, vegetable oil etc. are the good choice during your period. And the most important thing is- remember to drink a plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.

2.      Try Herbal Tea:

Tea fights period cramps according to research and a number of women shared that it really helped. Many women also take peppermint oil during period days. You can add a few drops of peppermint oil and try two times a day to observe if it works for you or not. You can try fresh ginger tea, raspberry leaf tea etc. to loosen up the cramp and ease the pain. Chamomile tea can also be a decent choice to go on during those days.

3.      Massage Your Abdomen with Essential Oils:

Some essential oils are there that are also very useful to reduce period cramp. Lavender oil, marjoram oil, fennel oil, cardamom oil, cumin oil and rose oil magically work for healing lower abdomen cramp provided that you massaged properly.
